The Chinese company Huawei is looking for eight young Colombians to train up in 5G technology at its headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The objective is that the chosen few can apply what they’ve learned in their native country.
The open application process is part of the Huawei’s social responsibility program called Semillas del Futuro, which has the backing of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of Colombia.
The deadline to apply is April 23 for ICT students, as well as systems, telecommunications and electronics engineering.
However, participants must be between 18 and 25 years of age, in addition to having a high level of English and being enrolled in the sixth semester or higher.
Those interested in participating can do so through the official website where they can access, fill out the registration form and pitch a preliminary research project.
It should be noted that the draft must raise how to improve the quality of life of Colombians using technologies such as 5G, which would help in the implementation of smart cities, as well as assisting in other fields like autonomous driving and big data analysis.
The president of Huawei in Colombia, Harry Hua said recently that “we are fully confident that young Colombians have the potential to become future ICT world leaders. For that reason, their participation is essential to create a better connected future.”
